TE Justin Meredith Profile
The rising senior from T.L. Hanna High School (Anderson) recently told CUTigers.com exactly what he will do.
"After my visit to Auburn, I'll probably be able to narrow it down, because I've been pretty much everywhere I wanted to see," Meredith said. "After I come back from this trip, my family and I will sit down and probably come out with some sort of top-five."
Meredith was scheduled to visit Auburn on Saturday for the Big Cat weekend. He won't be back on the road for another couple of weeks.
"We're going on a big 7-on-7 trip and we're using it as a recruiting trip for me," he said. "We're going to Tennessee and Vandy the first day. Then, we're going to Louisville the second day, then we're going to Notre Dame."
The nation's No. 16 tight end in the class of 2012 hasn't visited Clemson since one of the spring Junior Days that he attended.
A number of things will be considered as Meredith looks at schools like Clemson, Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and LSU, to decide if they‘ll make the cut.
His decision could be reached as early as August.
"There's a handful of teams right now that I'm pretty close with my position coach and recruiter, so those schools are definitely going to be one of the ones that are probably going to be on the list," he said. "There are some schools that I've seen a lot more than others, for whatever reasons. Those are probably going to be on my list."
Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris serves as Meredith primary recruiter to Tigertown.
"We talk about, I'd say once every two weeks, something like that," Meredith said. "I'll give him a call. He stopped by the school the other day to watch me practice."
Meredith ready to cut his list
