Checking in at around 5-8, 164, Autrey ran the second-fastest 40-yard dash time at the camp with a blazing time of 4.47 seconds on a very slow track. He also added one of the top vertical leaps at 35 1/2 inches. However, it was on the field where he made the most noise.
Showing the ability to press at the cornerback position and also turn and run, Autrey was physical and along with Rocky Hayes he was one of the top defensive backs in attendance.
"From the coaches' standpoint I did pretty good," Autrey tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I love Auburn and the game of football. I just love everything about it.
"It's a blessing," Autrey added about his performance. "It's nothing but from the Man above. It's just a blessing."
One of the highlights for Autrey at Sunday's camp was having the opportunity to talk with Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. Talking with him following the camp Autrey said he had some good things to say about his game and about the recruiting process.
"He just told me I caught his eye because I work so hard," Autrey said. "I got to tell him how much I love the game of football and he saw how hard I worked in one-on-one and team situations. He just said keep having fun playing the game of football and I'll get where I want to be."
Currently Autrey said he's still waiting on his first offer, but he noted that he's hearing from several colleges already. Based on his performance on Sunday and his ability to run, it won't be long before he's getting the offers he covets.
