Blake Named To Biletnikoff Watch List

Emory Blake was one of 12 SEC players named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.

Auburn, Ala.—For the third day in a row an Auburn player has been named to the watch list of one of the nation's top college football awards. On Thursday it was junior Emory Blake's turn as he was named to the Watch List for the Fred Biletnikoff Award for the nation's top wide receiver.

Even with three seniors at wide receiver last season and Auburn having one of the top running games in the nation Blake had a big sophomore season to put his name among the top players in college football at his position for the 2011 season. Playing in all 14 games he caught 33 passes for 554 yards and eight touchdowns.

He set the record for the longest pass play from scrimmage in Auburn history with a 94-yard touchdown reception from Cam Newton against ULM. It was also tied for the longest play in the SEC last season.

Blake was one of 12 players from the SEC named to the watch list along with Joe Adams from Arkansas, Chad Bumphis from Mississippi State, Duron Carter from Alabama, Greg Childs from Arkansas, Cobi Hamilton from Arkansas, Darius Hanks from Alabama, Alshon Jeffrey from South Carolina, Tavarres King from Georgia, Marquis Maze from Alabama, Rueben Randle from LSU and Jarius Wright from Arkansas.
