Top Juco WR Talks Recruiting, Visits And More

Talented wide receiver prospect Cordarrelle Patterson talks recruiting and gives his thoughts on the Auburn Tigers.

Hutchinson, Kan.—Rated a four-star prospect and the nation's top junior college wide receiver, Cordarrelle Patterson admits he's got too many offers to name as he heads into his sophomore season at Hutchinson Community College.

That comes as no surprise considering he's 6-4, 205 pounds and has been timed at 4.29 seconds in the 40-yard dash. As a freshman he had a huge year with 52 receptions for over 900 yards and 10 touchdowns. All of that adds up to a top prospect and a player that can afford to take his time before making a decision.

"This summer is going good," Patterson tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'm just really focusing on my game right now. I'm trying to improve my blocking and becoming more physical.

"I'm really just trying to take my time with everything," he added. "I'm going to wait before I make my decision. It will probably be in December so I can enroll in January."

A native of Rock Hill, SC, Patterson took a visit to Auburn for Big Cat Weekend in late May and came away very impressed by what he saw, saying the visit was the best one he had been on after seeing Georgia, Tennessee and Oklahoma State. With a few months to think about his busy spring Patterson said Auburn is still high on his list.

"My thoughts on Auburn are good," Patterson said. "It was just the whole place. Everything was good. The people and environment made it nice to be around the place."

Auburn made an impression so big that Patterson said he's planning on taking another visit to the Plains sometime before he makes a decision. That will be for an official visit. In addition to Auburn he said at the moment he feels like he's got his other four trips already in mind as well.

"I know I want to go to Auburn for a visit," Patterson said. "I'm also planning on going to Tennessee, Georgia, Texas Tech and Arkansas."
