"It was real nice," the 6-4, 290 Goodman tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "The family atmosphere was real strong up there. I haven't felt that anywhere else from all the schools I've been to. It's real strong at Auburn.
"Everybody has one goal and that's to win the national championship again. They're going to have a top class again in 2012. I had a lot of fun the two days I was there. Everybody was down to earth."
With Auburn as one of the schools he has been wanting to visit since his offer, Goodman said it was great to finally get to the campus and see everything and talk to the coaching staff.
"It means a lot because I have been trying to get there for over a year," Goodman said. "I have been taking extra classes so I can graduate in January. I don't really have that much time. The only time I don't do school is on Friday so I went over and liked it. I don't regret it.
"I talked to all of the coaches. I spent most of my time with Coach Jeff Grimes. He's a real cool coach that is real strong with family. He said he has his family over during practices and his kids are running around.
"I met with Coach (Gene) Chizik and he's a cool dude. He's around all the time and his kids are around too. He said he wanted his coaches to bring their kids around so it's like a family. That's a real good thing to hear."
With offers from all over the country Goodman said at the moment he's still pretty wide open with plans to narrow his list down sometime around the start of his senior season. Still he said there is one school he feels pretty sure will be in it until the end for him.
"Most likely I'm going to take an official visit to Auburn when they play Florida in October," Goodman said. "I want to see more of the stuff I haven't seen and hang out with the players."
