2004 Basketball Prospect Looking At Auburn

Basketball recruiting analyst Dave Telep writes about a highly regarded prospect considering the Tigers.

Aurora, Ill.--Basketball prospect Justin Cerasoli is turning into a big spring riser. The Ft. Sooy No Limit AAU team standout weighs in on his top choices and where some possible visits could lead.

Cerasoli, a 6-4, 180 guard who plays for West senior High School, will take his game on the road this weekend to the annual Speice Run 'n Slam. He'll be playing with the Ft. Sooy No Limit team and he'll have some extra slack to pick up with the expected absence of teammate Shaun Livingston.

Livingston could miss this weekend's Speice event with a bum ankle. "That's a big loss," Cerasoli said. "We could have won (the Kingwood) tournament if he was playing."

Regardless, Cerasoli will be out there doing his thing this weekend. Though there won't be any coaches in the stands this time out, Cerasoli already has a pretty big audience. He would like to take a spring visit or two and the top contenders are Seton Hall, Auburn, Ohio State and Connecticut. Villanova, North Carolina State and Florida will also contest for a visit and Cerasoli made it clear that he's not ready to commit to visits, only considering them.

"I don't know if I'm definitely going to visit them, but it's a probably," Cerasoli said of the four he talked about and the other contenders. "That's tough because we might not even end up actually going on a few of those visits."

The point guard said that Ohio State, North Carolina State and Seton Hall have recruited him the hardest. He's been to OSU and N.C. State on unofficial visits already this year.
