2012 Big Man Talks Recent Mizzou Offer

New Missouri basketball coach Franl Haith and staff continue their busy recruiting for 2012 by extending an offer to a fast rising big man prospect, and ShowMeMizzou.com has his thoughts on Mizzou hoops.

The Missouri coaching staff spent part of the last week of the evaluation period in California, checking in on 2012 PF Zach Auguste 6'10" 222 Marlborough (MA) The New Hampton School. ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Auguste, who has added a Missouri offer to his already impressive list of offers, and he updated us on his recruitment.

"I'm excited, and blessed, to have an offer from (Missouri)," said Auguste.

In addition to an offer from Missouri, Auguste reports offers from Auburn, Clemson, DePaul, Florida, Georgia Tech, Marquette, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Penn State, Providence, UMass, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Washington State, and West Virginia.

Auguste is planning to narrow his list down over the next few weeks.

"I will (narrow down) soon," explained Auguste, who would like to sign in November. "Probably in a week or two. First it will be to ten. Then, it will be to five, maybe in three to four weeks."

Auguste has taken unofficial visits to UMass, BC,and UConn. He said that the rest of his visits will be official visits, after school starts.

Auguste explained that the entire Missouri staff was on hand in California to watch him play, although he said that he did not have a prior relationship with Coach Haith, or any of the Missouri staff. He said that he doesn't know much about Missouri, but he is interested in learning as much as he can, and interested in getting to know the Missouri coaches.

Auguste said that Missouri would "maybe" make his visit list. He has a pretty high opinion of the Big 12 Conference.

"The Big 12 is a good conference. They have a lot of good teams in there," said Auguste, who went on to explain that one of his "good friends", Georges Niang, will be playing at Iowa State.

When asked to describe his game, Auguste said that he's a good shot-blocker and rebounder, and a versatile scorer.
