Several schools recruiting Auburn commit

T.J. Davis is a standout defensive back prospect from Godby High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

T.J. Davis was excellent as a junior last season and now he's helped his team to a fast start this fall.

"We're 3-0 right now we're on a roll. Teams aren't throwing to my side much but on the run game I come in and lay a lick to let them now I'm still there."

Davis, 6-feet and 175 pounds, committed to Auburn over the summer and talked about the status of that commitment.

"I chose Auburn because it's an awesome environment, really good tradition, great great coaching staff, I like their defense a lot- I believe I can play early. Plus it's only two in a half hours from my house.

Davis says he's developed a good relationship with several Tiger coaches.

"I talk to numerous coaches from Auburn weekly and even on facebook. They're all really cool."

Despite the commitment to the Tigers, Davis is still being recruited by several other major programs.

"Ohio State still calls, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Alabama call," he said. "They're all still showing interest and everything but I don't plan on taking visits to any other schools."

Inside the classroom Davis claims a 2.9 GPA and an 18 ACT score.
