Return Visit to Auburn Impresses Wiggins

2013 cornerback prospect Shaquille Wiggins from Sandy Creek, Ga., High School talks about his recent visits to Auburn and Tennessee.

Tyrone, Ga. – Junior cornerback Shaquille Wiggins of Sandy Creek High School visited Auburn for the season opener against Utah State and he came back to Auburn for the Tigers' 17-6 win over Florida last Saturday. He liked what he saw.

"It makes you want to come to Auburn and commit real quick," Wiggins said of the atmosphere. "You just have to think about it and go over everything. The defense looks so much better. You can tell that they practice, and that they practice hard. They come out in the games and execute all of the plays."

Wiggins, along with teammate and current Auburn commitment Jaquay Williams, talked with Auburn head coach Gene Chizik after the game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

"He told me he would talk to me soon, keep winning games and that he would come see us play in the playoffs," Wiggins noted. "I got to talk to a couple of coaches. They just told me to keep playing hard. They're going to watch me on film and they're pretty close to offering me."

Wiggins doesn't have Auburn in his top five currently, but said and Auburn offer would move Auburn in "immediately."

With Florida State as his dream school growing up, his current top five is "Florida State, LSU, Michigan, USC and Florida."

Wiggins claims offers from all over the Southeast and Midwest. "Michigan, Ohio State, Ohio, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Toledo and Ball State," he said of his offers. "Auburn, Florida and Notre Dame are pretty close. USC and Coach (Ed) Orgeron, they're pretty close."

After a recent offer from the Volunteers, Wiggins visited Knoxville the weekend before as Georgia defeated Tennessee 20-12.

"Tennessee was pretty good. There were 100,000-plus fans. While they were losing the fans stayed in the game, and it was a good game."
