Auburn freshman quarterback Kiehl Frazier said he knew that one day he would likely be playing for a different coordinator than Gus Malzahn. Because of that he said it made it easier for him to accept.
"He's got to do what's best for his family," Frazier said. "He's been looking for a head coaching job, and he's got a good opportunity at Arkansas State. I knew by the time I graduated he wouldn't be here, so it's not too shocking to me. I know Coach Chizik will bring in somebody who will push us forward."
Because of his relationship with Malzahn there have been a lot of rumors that Frazier would be leaving the Plains. Frazier said nothing could be further from the truth.
"Coach Malzahn was a big factor that I came here, but he wasn't the only factor," Frazier said. "Coach Chiz, Coach Troop, Coach Lupe, Coach Grimes are all still here. People have been asking me if I'm leaving. I'm definitely staying here."
