Tall Offensive Lineman Looking At Tigers

A highly regarded football prospect discusses his interest in Auburn and other colleges.

Tuscaloosa, Ala.--Cody Davis is a long, lean offensive tackle prospect from Hillcrest High School. At 6-8 and 265 pounds with 5.0 quickness, his potential is unlimited.

He played tight end as a sophomore because of that quickness, but he moved to offensive tackle last season, and that will be his home on the next level.

"I've been starting since I was in the 10th grade," Davis says. "I started at tight end, but I moved to offensive line last year. I'm going to Clemson's camp next week and they have given me an offer. After that, I am going to Alabama, Auburn and Florida's camps."

Davis blocks for one of the top running backs in the South in Markus Manson, and he uses his quickness to help pass protect. "I have a good first couple of steps, and I like to take the mentality out on the field that no one can beat me. I definitely want to be in the weight room all summer and work on my strength and speed. I'd like to get my 40 time in the low 4.9s."

When it comes to colleges, which teams have the best shot at Davis?

"I'm definitely looking at Auburn, Alabama and Florida. I like LSU, too. Georgia has been in contact with me, and South Carolina has been recruiting me. I can't leave them out."
