Signee Notes: Defensive End Gimel President

High school All-American defensive lineman Gimel President has signed scholarship papers.

Mt. Pleasant, S.C.--Gimel President, a three-star prospect from Wando High School, has signed scholarship papers to play football for the Auburn Tigers.

Position/Scout Ranking: President, 6-4, 242, three stars, ranked as the No. 44 defensive end prospect in the country.

Main Competition: In-state school South Carolina and neighboring North Carolina were the other two colleges President considered before verbally committing to the Tigers in late July.

Why Auburn Signed Him: President is explosive off the line of scrimmage and has the frame and potential to grow into a standout at defensive end in the Southeastern Conference. Additionally, he has been has the speed to run down tailbacks in the open field.

Worth Noting: In addition to being named a Parade All-American, President was named to the U.S. team for the International Bowl, which pits the top high school football players from the U.S. and Europe against each other.
