AU Signee Notes: Defensive Lineman Tyler Nero

Tyler Nero, an outstanding defensive lineman, is on board with the Tigers.

Atmore, Ala.--One of the top prospects in the state of Alabama for the 2012 signee class, Tyler Nero, has signed to play football for the Auburn Tigers.

Position/Scout Ranking: Nero, 6-2, 290, Escambia County High, four stars, ranked as the No. 11 defensive tackle in the country.

Auburn's Main Competition: Nero considered offers from Arkansas, Clemson Florida and Florida State, but the battle for his signature was primarily between the two in-state schools, Auburn and Alabama, with the Tigers getting his pledge in early August.

Why Auburn Signed Him: The interior defensive lineman has the speed, quickness and physicality to wreak havoc and bring the pressure in opposing backfields.

Nero chose Auburn in large part due to his good relationship with Tigers' defensive line coach Mike Pelton, who took over Nero's recruitment when Tracy Rocker left to coach the defensive line for the Tennessee Titans.
