Comfort Level At Auburn The Key For Five-Star

Avery Young talks about signing with the Auburn Tigers.

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.—Late in the day on Wednesday the Auburn Tigers were looking for a big finish on national signing day and got just that in the form of five-star offensive tackle Avery Young. Choosing the Tigers live on national television, he added to what was an already impressive class. Rated the nation's number four offensive tackle, Young said for him the decision came down to his comfort level with the Tigers.

"I have no regrets for my decision at all," Young tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'm actually proud of my decision. I just felt real comfortable on their campus. It's great. I can relax now. All I can do now is just go work out and get ready."

With offers from top schools all over the country, the 6-6, 295 Young chose Auburn over Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and several others. Admitting that he didn't make his decision until very recently, Young said there were plenty of reasons why he knew that Auburn was the place for him.

Two of the biggest reasons were two of Auburn's current freshmen, Brandon Fulse and Tre Mason. A cousin of Fulse and close friends with Mason, Young may have been influenced to visit Auburn originally by his friends but when he saw the place for himself he knew it was where he belonged.

"I just looked for basically...kind of going by the pros and cons and all the good things and bad things about it, and really there was nothing bad so when you think about with Auburn," Young said. "It was the first place I visited, and after I left, I went on the rest of them. I couldn't really compare any other schools to it."

Planning to move to Auburn in June, Young will have a chance to compete for early playing time at offensive tackle for the Tigers with starters Brandon Mosley and A.J. Greene both having used up their eligibility.
