First offer means something Polite-Bray

DeMarquis Polite-Bray picked up his first offer on Monday and it was a big one. It came from the school he has been following for some time.

"My dad is from Tennessee, so to get an offer from the University of Tennessee is big," said DeMarquis Polite-Bray. "I still have family in Tennessee, they have been a school I have kept up with for a long time, and they will have a place close to my heart now since they offered me first."

Polite-Bray has not spoken directly to UT coaches about the offer yet, but he plans to soon.

"My teammate Josh Outlaw was offered by Tennessee at the same time as I was and they want me to visit them soon. I want to get up there, talk to the coaches, and just get another look at UT."

He has had one look already; the receiver out of Lithonia (GA) M.L.K. was in Knoxville when the Vols hosted Vanderbilt last season.

"I loved the energy up there and they had a very big crowd. I can't wait to get back up there now."

With Derek Dooley's program being first to offer and Polite-Bray having connections to that state, UT has taken the early lead.

"They have been high on my list for some time, but they are the highest team now," he said. "I like them the most, I am excited about the offer, and I am looking forward to visiting up there soon."

East Carolina is another school showing a lot of interest in Polite-Bray at this time.
