Five-Star Diggs To Maryland

The wait for Stefon Diggs' decision is is now over as he will play at home for the Maryland Terrapins.

Olney, Md.—Five-star wide receiver Stefon Diggs waited over a week after signing day to make his decision so he could do it on his 18th birthday, but the wait paid off for the home school as he chose the Maryland Terrapins over Auburn, Florida, Ohio State and dozens of other schools.

A U.S. Army All-American, Diggs caught 36 passes for 808 yards and carried the ball 15 times for 229 yards with 13 total touchdowns for a Good Counsel team that ran roughshod over its league opponents. Good Counsel won its third consecutive WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) title with a 42-0 win over Gonzaga in the final game of the year.

Stefon Diggs

Diggs becomes the first five-star signee for the Maryland program since 2006 when defensive tackle Melvin Alaeze signed with the Terps out of Hargrave Military Academy. Currently ranked 47th in the country on Scout.com, Maryland's class should get a big boost with the addition of Diggs.

He joins teammates Wes Brown (four-star RB) and Mike Madaras (three-star OG) from Good Counsel as Maryland signees in the 2012 class.

More to come with Diggs on Scout.com/FoxSportsNext.com….
