Talented Athlete Has Tigers In Top Five

Milledgeville, Ga.--One of the top prospects in Georgia has Auburn among his top five schools heading into his senior.

Lonnie Clemons is an outstanding athlete from Milledgeville, GA that led his Baldwin team in tackles and interceptions as a junior. Playing into the fourth quarter is not a problem for Clemons who also competes in cross country and runs the 1600 meter race in track. He is a 3.0 student, and at 6-2 and 195 pounds with a 4.5 forty, he is definitely a player to keep an eye on this summer and fall.

"We went 8-3 last season," said Clemons. "I went to Auburn already for a camp, and I am going to Georgia next month. I might go to Clemson too. Those are the three schools I'm looking at the most. I was thinking of going to Miami's camp, but I don't think I'm going to be able to go. Arkansas would be the fifth school on my list for a Top 5."

Education will play a big role in the school that Clemons chooses. He has his career path outside of football already mapped out.

"I want to be a speech therapist. That's what I want to work towards in school. My goals for this summer are just to work on my forty time and get stronger. I bench 295 right now, but I'd like to get 315 before the season. I think one of my strengths right now is that I have good make up speed. I want to work on my stop and go's this summer also. I just want to do what I can to help our team get better."

With a background in distance running as well as being active in the gym, Clemons is the type of player that will be going just as hard in the fourth quarter as he does on the opening kickoff. He leads by example, and he will help make a good Baldwin team very dangerous this year.
