Harris Headed To The Falcons

Deep snapper Josh Harris is headed to Atlanta after being picked up by the Falcons as a free agent following the NFL Draft.

Auburn, Ala.--The NFL Draft came and went with just one Auburn Tiger taken, but it wasn't long before one of the key members of the program the last four years got a phone call as deep snapper Josh Harris is headed to the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent.

"I'm officially an Atlanta Falcon! Dream come true! Still a lot of hard work ahead!" Harris said on his twitter account.

A native of Carrollton, Ga., Harris was a steady performer for the Tigers on both punts and field goals in his career. A walk-on until earning a scholarship before his junior season, Harris' moment in the sun came on Wes Byrum's game winner against Oregon in the BCS Championship Game following the 2010 season.

The grandson of Jimmy Morrow, who played on the 1958 Auburn National Championship team, Harris had solid performances both at the Senior Bowl in Mobile and at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
