Top 50 Basketball Prospects For 2004

Hoops recruiting analyst Dave Telep writes about the next crop of basketball prospects.

Since the Final Four, Tracy Pierson and I have covered more than a dozen major events looking for the top basketball prospects for the 2004 signee class. We have had our eyes on these prospects more than any other scouting service, website, newspaper--you know name it. Ask around, we are not scouting from VCR tapes. We are seeing these prospects up close.

We have seen some guys play their way into the Top 50 and others who might have played their way out. Movement is the constant theme of this list. Because a prospect is not on it right now doesn't mean he won't be later and vice versa.

Actually, trimming this list down to 50 was an arduous task. Deserving players routinely get left out of the mix. However, they control their destiny. Folks, July is upon us and this is the month prospects make their move. So, without further delay, here is our Pre-Summer Top 50!
