"I had a great time today," Green said. "I came down with me and my family and had a great time. I sat down and spoke with Coach (Gene) Chizik and Coach (Curtis) Luper and the offensive coordinator. It was all great. I'm definitely coming back for the LSU game. I had a great time. I spoke to Dee Liner and Reuben Foster and a couple of commits. I had a great time. It was a lot of fun."
Many times things stand out on a visit such as the facilities or the coaching staff, but Green said for him and his family it was the entire experience that gave them a very special feeling on their first trip to Auburn.
"My mom and my step-father came down with me," Green said. "My mom loved it. She said she got a feeling that she hasn't gotten at any other school, and I did as well.
"She loved sitting down and speaking with Coach Chizik," the running back explained. "She just said he was a real coach and looking into his eyes you can tell he loves his players.
"It was just when I came with my family I got that vibe," he added. "I felt comfortable with the players and the head coach. I just felt good. Just going to the camps and speaking with some other guys like Reuben Foster and Dee Liner and Carl Lawson and what they say about it, I was kind of expecting it."
Recently Chizik was named in a poll as one of the easiest coaches to talk with by many of the top recruits around the country. After speaking with him for a long time on his visit Green said it's easy to see what that's the case.
"Sitting down with Coach Chizik I would say he's a down to earth coach," Green said. "He kept it 100 percent real with me and I definitely like that. He's a man of his word. He knows his stuff. He wants me in his program.
"He said they are taking one more back and he wants that back to be me. Just sitting down and speaking with him was a great opportunity for me."
"Coach Chizik is a great guy," he added. "That was my first time speaking with him face to face and he's a great guy. Just the campus overall, I had a great time. I'm definitely coming back, no question about it."
With a current Top 14 featuring many top football schools in the country including Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and several others, Green said he recently added Georgia to the list after the Bulldogs offered. While he admits he's not in any hurry to make a decision and wants to narrow things down to a top five after his senior season, he did say Auburn is in a very good position at the moment.
"I would definitely say Auburn has an official coming," Green said. "I might just come down for that game. I'm not sure when I'll take my official, but they'll definitely have one. It's definitely a school I'm coming back to."
One look at Green and you can definitely tell that he's a player that is no stranger to the weight room. Saying it's one of his favorite things, he said he was impressed by the new facilities in that area and also Coach Kevin Yoxall.
"I'm a freak in the weight room, I love it," Green said. "I didn't think it was going to be as nice as it was. It was real nice. I spoke to Coach Yox and he's about his business when it comes to the weight room and I am too. I definitely liked that as well as speaking with Coach Chizik and hearing what he had to say."
With a team that had most games in hand early in the contests, Green still managed to rush for over 1,500 yards and score 20 touchdowns in 2011 even though he rarely played in the second half of games.
