2014 Wing Has Five Offers

Riley Norris, one of the top players in the Alabama class of 2014, already has five offers on the table, including two Southeastern Conference schools.

  • Name: Riley Norris
  • Classification: 2014
  • High School: Albertville (AL) High school
  • AAU Team: Southeast Elite Stars
  • Position: Two-Guard/Wing
  • HT-WT: 6-foot-7, 180 pounds

  • "UAB, Samford, Mercer, Arkansas and Ole Miss have offered," said Norris. "It feels good to have those offers. That gives me motivation to be the best that I can be."

He's also receiving recruiting interest from several other colleges.

"Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Florida, Virginia and Clemson are showing interest," said Norris. "And Mississippi State was at some of my AAU games but I'm not sure of their interest."

Norris has many attributes that college coaches are looking for.

"I'm more of a 2/3 but I try to be very versatile," said the youngster. "I really can play the two, three and four positions."

While versatility is a strength of his, he's also a good offensive player.

"While I try to be versatile, I can also score," said Norris. "Offensively, I can shoot threes or drive to the basket. I also try to get my teammates involved on the offensive end by making good passes."

Another strength of his is his basketball IQ.

"Coaches tell me that I have a high basketball IQ," said Norris. "Most of the time I play small with the ball. I don't force thing. I make good decisions. I just try to let the game come to me."

One aspect of his game that he's working hard to improve is his defense.

"Defensively, I need to get quicker," said Norris. "But once I get quicker, I think I can bring a lot to the defense."
