A 6-11, 215 power forward/center, who came to the United States from Lithuania three years ago to play basketball and study abroad, Griciunas said, "My visit was a really good experience. I really like it. It is a really nice place."
Griciunas, who is from Siulte, a city of about 30,000 in Lithuania, said he could see himself fitting in at Auburn as a student and a basketball player. He has a sister who lives in Houston.
He noted it was difficult to move so far away from home to go to high school in Nevada, but said "it has been a great experience."
A prospect being recruited by St. Mary's, Georgia, Washington State and Boston College, his trip to Auburn was his first official visit. The big man said that he is going to take his time on making his college decision and will wait until the spring to sign. "I want to see everything," he said.
Griciunas noted that power forward is probably his best position. He said that offensively he likes to score on pick-and-roll plays and is comfortable playing with his face to the basket, which is not unusual for European big men. Asked if he is a good outside shooter, he said, "I think so."
Interested in becoming an attorney who specializes in international law and business, gave the overall visit to Auburn a thumbs up. "I really like the place," he said.
