Pinson Valley, Ala. – Sophomore running back Nick Gibson from Pinson Valley is on his way to being one of the top players in the class in Alabama for 2015.
The 5-11, 200-pound back with speed and power is already drawing interest from several SEC schools.
"I grew up an Alabama fan, but if I get a scholarship I'm happy with that," he added. "I'm just look for the most playing time, good academics and wherever I can be successful."
Gibson plays on offense with Auburn commitment Earnest Robinson at receiver.
"You never know what we're going to do," Gibson said. "We could come out and pass, or we could come out and run. You've got to adjust your defense to both. It's hard to stop it when we've got a bunch of athletes."
Gibson and his teammates locked up a playoff berth two games ago with a 35-0 victory over Springville. Gibson had three rushing scores in that game.
Pinson Valley has won four straight games after an overtime loss at then No. Clay-Chalkville of 6A. At 6-3 overall and 6-1 in region play Pinson Valley has locked up the No. 2 spot in 5A Region 6 and will play Pleasant Grove in the first round of the playoffs.
