Coach Flo's Tigers Cruise Past Alabama A&M

Sophomore Hasina Muhammad scored a career-high 21 points for the hot-shooting Tigers.

Auburn, Ala.--The Auburn women's basketball team shot 59.1 percent from the field on Sunday as the Tigers cruised to a 93-44 victory over Alabama A&M.

Sophomore guard Hasina Muhammad scored a career-high 21 points while adding seven rebounds. Senior forward Blanche Alverson added 14 points for the Tigers.

The Tigers, who improved their record to 3-1, took control early and led 49-26 at halftime vs. the Bulldogs, who fell to 1-2 for the season.

Auburn coach Terri Williams-Flournoy said, "We only took six threes. Our percentage from the three-point line was absolutely horrible so we wanted to get in a little closer and attack the basket a little bit more.

"I thought we did a better job today of executing our offense and getting the best shot--not just the first shot, but getting the best shot which increases your percentage," AU's first-year coach added.

Sophomore guard Courtney Strain scored a career-high 12 points for the Tigers while junior center Peyton Davis added nine points and six rebounds.

The Tigers return to action on Friday vs. San Diego State in the Omni Hotels Classic in Boulder, Colorado.

Auburn is in action next on November 23 in Boulder, Colo. against San Diego State as part of the 26th annual Omni Hotels Classic.
