The only admitted downside for Clark was the bitter cold of a Chicago winter. Everything else went as he had hope.
"It went great," Clark said of the weekend experience. "I got a feel for campus. I was around the team a lot and enjoyed that. I got a feel for the coaching staff and got to see what it's like the be part of the team."
The highlight of Clark's time on campus was watching the Wildcats' practice from the sidelines. It gave a glimpse of how Northwestern works each day.
"They're a high-energy group of guys," said Clark. "In practice, they're up-tempo all the time. We got to hang a bit off the field and they're some good guys.
"That was a whole nother atmosphere I had never seen before. I didn't know college [football] was like that."
Clark also had the opportunity to click with the coaching staff.
"They've got a great coaching staff," he said. "That's what makes [Northwestern] even more likeable."
The visit in Evanston made quite an impression on the highly touted prospect.
"It just had the feel as the complete package of what you look for in a school," he said.
