Barbee Dismisses Shareif Adamu

Auburn basketball forward Shareif Adamu's AU basketball career is finished.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn junior basketball forward Shareif Adamu has been permanently removed from the Auburn basketball team, Coach Tony Barbee announced on Tuesday an hour before his team's game vs. Grambling.

Adamu, who was suspended for Auburn's previous game vs. DePaul, played in six games with two starts this season. He averaged 2.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 12.3 minutes per contest.

Adamu hit 5-14 field goals and 5-8 free throws. He had three assists and 10 turnovers.

The six-foot-eight forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., began his college career at Alabama State before transferring to Georgia Perimeter College where he signed with the Tigers.
