Ole Miss sent scholarship papers to three junior college prospects: Hinds WR Q. Mireles, Northeast Defensive Tackle Lavon Hooks and East Mississippi DE Za'Darius Smith.
While anything can happen, it appears as if Mireles is the only "sure thing" for the Rebels.
Mireles, who signed with Ole Miss out of high school but failed to qualify academically, has remained solid with the Rebels throughout the recruiting process. He signed this morning.
Hooks, a 6-5, 300-pound defensive tackle, is expected to announce today at 11 a.m. and the battles seems to be between Ole Miss, Washington and Mississippi State.
Smith, a 6-6, 255-pound defensive lineman, may not sign today, our sources have indicated. He is thought to be undecided as of this morning.
Mireles was first team All-State while Hooks and Smith both garnered second team JUCO All-American status.
On a side note, East Mississippi WR/CB Nick Brassell is expected to enroll at Ole Miss in January, but he does not have to sign a letter of intent. He will count against the Rebs' 85 scholarship total and not as an initial signee this year.
JUCO Signing Begins Today
