Eagles Still In The Mix?

Arie Anderson is a big defensive tackle who was at the top of the Eagle's list for several months. Now that there is a new staff, where does the dominating lineman stand today?

Arie Anderson is a dominating presence in the middle for the Stanhope Elmore defense. He was moved inside and outside along the line as they sought to get him to disrupt the offense as much as possible.

Offenses took notice of where he was on the field.

"My numbers weren't as great this year because teams were always running away from me," he said. "I'd have to chase someone down or hit them in the backfield to make a tackle."

Anderson said he projects inside at the next level.

"I can play either tackle or end, but I have been told by coahces that I'll be on the inside," he added.

Who is he hearing from now?

"I am still hearing from UAB and Troy the most right now," he said. "Missouri kinda dropped off because they were full, same with Texas A&M, I'd have to grayshirt if I went there.

"Southern Miss and Troy are still my top two. I haven't heard from Southern Miss but I know they are going through a coaching change so I expect to hear from them soon once they get everyone in place."

Anderson said he'll take several visits before making a decision late in January.

"I'm not really in a big rush," he said. "I have about 4-5 offers, and I want to make sure I have the best place for me."
