Bridges Still Contemplating

Tony Bridges looked forward to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game with great interest. Bridges was able to solidify his standing as one of the state's top defensive backs with big plays all week. College recruiters are in touch with the Hattiesburg High star as he considers his college path.

"I have been hearing from a lot of coaches right lately," said Bridges. "Louisiana-Lafayette has been calling me.

"I just got off the phone with them. They want me to come down and see the campus and meet with the coaches.

"We haven't set up a visit yet, but they're talking about it."

One of the in state programs in Mississippi has remained in contact with the true cover corner.

"Coach (Tony) Hughes just called my coach the other day," said Bridges. "They are still interested in me and they are talking about me coming up there to visit.

"All of the jucos have offered me and they are always calling me. They all want me to come to their school."

Bridges' path to major college football is still under construction.

"I am not sure what I am going to have to do yet," said Bridges. "I don't know if I will have to go to junior college first or how that is going to go.

"I know I am going to be somewhere next year and I am going to work hard to get to the next level."

For now, Bridges is putting his talents to good use on the HHS basketball court.

"We haven't lost a game since I've been back," said Bridges. "I scored 32 points against Tupelo the other night.

"I feel like I have been playing pretty well lately and we've been winning."
