At the Flyin to the Hoop event Wilkins and his team got big wins over Huntington (WV) Prep and Trotwood (Ohio), and he credited those victories to playing hard.
"We just try to play hard every time out," said Wilkins. "Even against the best players in the country you just have to play hard every time and play with great effort as a team."
Recruiting wise things are beginning to pick up for Wilkins who has one offer, but significantly more interest.
Wilkins has made a visit to Dayton, and the Flyers program impressed the 6-foot-10 center.
"I visited the school and had a chance to play with the team," said Wilkins. "They are very good and they have a good campus. I like them a lot."
With Miami, the Hurricanes evaluated Wilkins at the beginning of the season and have remained in touch ever since.
"They have told me that I have to work hard to get my spot and that they are looking for a big guy like me in my class," said Wilkins.
For now there is no timetable for a decision from the three-star prospect, but he does know what will be important when it becomes time to make a college decision.
"The first thing I look for is education because after that I just have to play basketball no matter where I go," Wilkins said.
