Jackson to play in Oxford

Ole Miss has gotten off to a blazing start on Signing Day and tight end A.J. Jackson is one that signed early with the Rebels on Wednesday.

"I have chose Ole Miss because I thought it was the best fit for me," A.J. Jackson told Scout Wednesday morning. "I really liked Florida State but my gut told me to go to Ole Miss."

It was more than a gut feeling for Jackson though, he chose the Rebels for numerous reasons.

"The coaches really impressed me and I like them a lot. There are always going to be challenges in life and I like being challenged, so I want to help Ole Miss get to that next level. FSU has a great program, but Ole Miss has a challenge, so I want to be part of the class that gets Ole Miss back on top. We have a chance to do things Ole Miss athletes have not done in a long time.

The 6-foot-5, 240 pound tight end out of Lovejoy, Ga. was a long time FSU commit, but on Wednesday morning, he knew he was not going to wear that garnet and gold.

"Signing day was when I made my mind up," he said when asked when he knew of his decision. "I have been thinking real hard about it, but with their coaches, the awesome campus, and the opportunities they have to provide for me, I am going to Ole Miss. When I got out of bed today, it was Ole Miss."
