DT Dontavius Russell Profile
Carrollton High School junior Dontavius Russell picked up his Clemson offer on Wednesday.
"My coach told me that they were maybe going to offer me. I got a message on Facebook. Then, I called [Brooks] and [he] told me that they were going to go ahead and offer me," Russell told CUTigers in an interview last week.
What was the message from Brooks?
"He was just telling me he saw my film and liked some of the things he saw in it, and he wanted to offer me. He wanted to get me down for a visit when I can get that straightened out."
Before Wednesday, Russell hadn't heard from Clemson.
"I want to visit Clemson, but I don't know when I'll be able to," he said.
But I definitely want to."
Russell has already made visits to Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia and South Carolina. He was scheduled to see Florida over the weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound prospect currently has no list of favorites.
"People always tell me that you will know when you see the school you want to go to," Russell said. "Whenever I feel like I find the school I want to be at, that's when I'll do it."
As a junior, he had 34 tackles and three sacks.
