Moss Enjoys Auburn Visit; Talks LB Position

Talented athlete E.J. Moss talks about his visit to Auburn's Junior Day and discusses possibly playing linebacker on the next level.

Ashville, Ala.—A talented athlete that first got notice as a high school quarterback, 6-3, 225 E.J. Moss has seen his recruiting take on a different direction in recent months as more and more teams are looking at him as a future linebacker in college.

One of those teams is the Auburn Tigers.

Last weekend Moss was one of 150 talented prospects on hand for a Junior Day on the Plains and says that his trip went very well as he got a close look at Coach Gus Malzahn and the new staff he has assembled.

"It was nice," Moss says. "I like all the new coaches. They are really nice, especially the quarterback coach (Rhett Lashlee) and the linebacker coach (Ellis Johnson). I talked to them a lot on my visit. I really do like it a lot with the new coaches they've got."

Being recruited for one of the two linebacker positions in Auburn's new 4-2-5 defense, it's not a surprise that Moss spent a lot of time with Johnson on Saturday. Saying he really likes what Johnson preaches about the new defense, Moss says while he's played a lot of offense in his life he's not opposed to doing the hitting on the next level.

"They are looking at me at inside linebacker," Moss says. "That's how I spent the day with them. I really just want to be on the field so linebacker works for me just fine."

Currently waiting on an offer from the new Auburn staff, Moss says at the moment his plans are still to make a decision sometime in April if he can make his final choice by then. Until that time he says he plans to make another visit back to Auburn and hopes to add the offer then.

"I'm hearing from Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Mississippi State," Moss says. "Mississippi State is hitting me pretty hard. I have offers from Mississippi State and Kentucky."
