Out on his spring break last week, Alexander stopped in at Auburn to check out the facilities along with Day and to also talk with Gus Malzahn and the coaching staff. A 5-10, 190-pounder that is being recruited as a corner but also capable of playing safety, Alexander says that he enjoyed everything about his first visit to the Plains.
"It went good," Alexander says. "I really like the campus. It's real nice, a beautiful campus. The coaches are real down to earth. I talked to the safety coach (Charlie Harbison) and he's real cool. He became a coach and a friend. I really liked that. I really love the facilities they have. I enjoyed everything there."
Hearing from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Ole Miss and several other schools already, Alexander is still waiting on his first offer. Until that happens he says he'll continue to check out some of the programs showing his interest. As for Auburn, he notes that he would like to take another trip back over the summer to a camp after getting to see what the Tigers are all about.
"The thing I like the most is the coaching staff," Alexander says. "When you can get a coaching staff that is real down to earth and that can connect to the coaching staff, that's when you know you've struck magic."
