Signing six players in this year's recruiting class meant Auburn was going to be one player over the limit of allowed scholarships before Price's departure cleared that up.
A talented shooter, Price averaged just 5.4 points per game last season for the Tigers while shooting 39 percent from three-point range. Price made 11 consecutive three-pointers during a stretch last season. He played in 27 games with five starts as a true freshman.
It's not known where Price intends to transfer. He will have to sit out next season if he winds up at another Division 1 school.
