FSU Commitment Enjoys Auburn A-Day

2014 linebacker Delvin Purifoy talks about visiting Auburn's A-Day Game on Saturday.

Pensacola, Fla.—One of the top middle linebacker prospects and an early commitment to Florida State, Delvin Purifoy was on the Auburn campus Saturday to check out the A-Day game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Watching Coach Gus Malzahn's first spring game along with over 83,000 fans, Purifoy says the experience was a great one for him.

"I really loved the atmosphere and how the crowd got into the game," Purifoy says. "The players on defense were hustling. Everybody was keeping their head up. It's a choice I may have."

That choice could come as Purifoy learns more about the Auburn Tigers in the coming days and months. Being recruited by Dameyune Craig for the Tigers, the 6-3, 215 Purifoy says that he really enjoyed his first experience in getting to see the Auburn program up close and personal.

Hoping to take another visit this summer, he says that right now he's still firmly committed to the Seminoles, but Auburn made an impact on him Saturday.

"I want to see how they do this season and what the changes bring," Purifoy says. "Coach Malzahn was just talking to me about getting back up and learning the defense and deciding if I like it or not. He was pretty cool."

Playing in the middle last season for Pensacola Catholic High, Purifoy played in just seven games during the 2012 season but still managed to make 75 tackles.
