Bama evaluating Thomas

Alabama was in Many, Louisiana, earlier today to monitor the progress of 2015 OL Garrett Thomas...

Alabama hosted 2015 offensive tackle Garrett Thomas for its spring game last month, and the Crimson Tide were in Many on Thursday to speak with MHS head coach Jess Curtis.

"Coach (Billy) Napier came by and told us he's excited and that the coaches are really high on Garrett," Curtis said. "He wanted to make sure Garrett comes to camp.

"Coach Napier said they don't come after too many sophomores, and that Garrett's the only sophomore he was checking on during this trip. He said, 'When we give Garrett his offer, we'll mean it.'"

Curtis and Thomas attended Bama's spring game.

"It was awesome," Curtis said. "I was blown away by the facilities. There were 78,000 at A-Day. The weight room, with Coach Cochran, is unbelievable.

"I like Alabama's coaches. They're personable. Coach Napier said Garrett is in a good spot; all the coaches like him. They just want to watch him develop a little more."

Auburn and Michigan have offered Thomas, who lines up at right tackle for Many.
