Queen High On Tigers After Getting AU Offer

Talented class of 2015 quarterback Tyler Queen talks about his Sunday camp experience at Auburn, adding an offer from the Tigers and more.

Kennesaw, Ga.—After getting the Auburn experience earlier in the week but missing out on a meeting with Coach Gus Malzahn, talented 2015 quarterback prospect Tyler Queen from North Cobb High was back on the Plains on Sunday to take part in a one-day camp with the Tigers.

Impressing with a strong arm and ability to make all the throws, Queen left with an offer from Auburn and says he's very high on the Tigers at the moment.

"It was just a great experience to get back over and build a better relationship with Coach Lashlee and finally meet Coach Malzahn," Queen tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "It was just a fun experience getting to throw to some of the guys they are looking at as well. It was just special.

"Coach Lashlee is a great guy," he adds. "He has been up front with me since day one. I like their offense and what they do. He puts people in position to be successful. When you are looking at coaches and programs that's one thing you want to make sure of is going in to play first of all and being successful also. I really like what they do at Auburn. It's just first class."

Part of a large group of talented quarterbacks on hand for the camp on Sunday, Queen says that he knew going into the day that he would have to fight for his reps and earn his spot among the other top players. He says that competition is what drives him and made the day even more special.

Adding offers from Auburn, Alabama and Clemson in the last week to go along with several other programs, Queen already has a good list to work with on the recruiting trail and says he's just taking his time firming up a final list this early. It's safe to say however that Auburn has made the early cut for the strong-armed quarterback.

"I love the place," he says. "It's just an awesome atmosphere. I love the coaching staff, they are great guys. I really like Auburn. It's very high on my list right now.

"Clemson is one," he adds. "I got that offer earlier this week. North Carolina is also in there. That's really the top group. I wouldn't say top three, but they are the ones that are really catching my attention right now I'm going to wait until after a few more camps before I narrow it down any more."
