So far, so good. He recently closed a busy month of June, when he camped at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi and Miami (Fla.). He earned a scholarship offer from Mississippi State for his efforts.

The camp circuit continues in July. Camps, as has been proven, are important for him. Hoyett feels a number of schools are close to offering, he needs only to showcase his abilities in person.

"Coaches tell me good things," he said. "Personally, I think it's my footwork. I need to get better on that. Other than that, I feel like I'm fine everywhere else. I've built a great relationship with all the schools I've been talking to. I just feel like I've got to show them my talents in person."

Not that he's feeling pressure to perform. But Hoyett, who stars for Pelham High School, knows he has to put his best foot forward in these summer months.

"I wouldn't say pressure," Hoyett said. "My junior year, I didn't have the season I wanted to. But I think this summer is going to prove a lot of things. I'm just trying to get better. That's all it is."

Miami (Fla.) and Samford offered Hoyett early in the recruiting process, and then came Mississippi State. Ole Miss, Memphis and Georgia Tech have all expressed interest, as well.

Hoyett, a member of the recruiting class of 2014, was in attendance for Ole Miss elite camp in early June. He left without an offer, though one could be coming in the future.

"I was just trying to get better, you know? I just went out there to get better every day," he said. "It was a good opportunity for me. (Ole Miss running backs) Coach (Derrick) Nix, he sees a lot in me."

Hoyett named Mississippi State as his leader in his most-recent interview with He was tempted to commit to the Bulldogs upon receiving an offer, but opted to hold off.

Because really, he feels no rush to decide, though he would like to make his decision prior to his senior season.

"I would like to have it done by the time the season starts, so I can I already have it done," he said. "I wouldn't have to worry about anything, just my senior season. I want to have a decision of where I'm going to go."
