Wide Receiver Talks Tigers

Wide receiver prospect Lawrence Lee from Pensacola talks about visiting Auburn and discusses his recruiting.

Pensacola, Fla.—Previously committed to Tennessee, speedy wide receiver Lawrence Lee from West Tech High in Pensacola has been on a tour recently with trips to Missouri and South Florida among his stops. On Wednesday the three-star prospect was in Auburn to check out the Tigers and Coach Gus Malzahn.

Spending time with Auburn wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig and getting to know the rest of the staff, the 5-11, 175 Lee says he enjoyed his first taste of the Plains and getting to see what the Tigers are all about.

"It was a really good experience," Lee says. "I have never been to Auburn, but they told me about the tradition and that's really good. I met most of the coaches. It was a real good experience.

"I like the tradition," he adds. "It's just the coaches. They are really cool. I could probably see myself being there in a few years. Auburn just gives you that cool feeling. It was really nice."

Getting the opportunity to get to know Craig better as well as get a feel for the offense, Lee says that he could see himself playing for the former Auburn quarterback down the road if offered by the Tigers.

"He's a good guy and a good coach," Lee says. "He's really laid back but he lets you know what he likes about you.

"Auburn is pretty high on my list," he adds. "An offer would be pretty big for me. I would love to come up to one of the games. I have never experienced that."

Also looking at Missouri, South Florida and planning to visit Alabama this weekend, Lee says that he doesn't have a timetable for a decision and he just wants to experience the recruiting process and learn as much about his favorites as possible.

"I told Coach Craig that I don't really have a time frame," Lee says. "Whenever I feel like it's the best time or wherever I'm most comfortable then that's what I'm going to go with."

As a junior Lee caught 51 passes for more than 1,000 yards.
