Robinson Headed To Junior College

Auburn wide receiver signee Earnest Robinson will begin his career at East Mississippi Community College.

Pinson, Ala.--One of Auburn's earliest commitments for the 2013 recruiting class, Earnest Robinson will have to wait a bit longer to get to the Plains after he failed to qualify academically according to Pinson Valley Coach Matt Glover. Needing a big summer to make the grade, Robinson came up short and instead will head to East Mississippi Community College.

A three-star prospect and physically gifted receiver, Robinson played in both the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic and the Under Armour All-American Game following his senior season.

Robinson and fellow Alabama All-Star Jason Smith were the only two signees that failed to qualify out of the class and that's potentially bad news for Coach Dameyune Craig. While Robinson was definitely a receiver, Smith had the ability to make an impact at the position if things didn't work out at quarterback. He'll instead begin his career at prep school.

The Tigers still have a solid group of receivers coming in this fall including high school teammates Tony Stevens and Dominic Walker along with speedy inside receiver Marcus Davis. All will have the chance to earn playing time this fall once practices begin on Aug. 1
