Floyd has three favorites

Three programs on his offer list stand out to Cornelius Floyd. The 2014 defensive back of Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL) hopes to take official visits to those schools this fall before making a decision after the season. Get the latest here.

Arkansas, Auburn, Pittsburgh, Tulane, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Marshall, and others have all offered Cornelius Floyd, but three are leading the race.

"I'm just taking it one day at a time. I have a top three right now. Wake Forest, Arkansas, and UCF," he said.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete said there are things to like about each school.

"Wake Forest, it's not too far from home, the coaches keep in touch with me on a weekly basis, and they want me for all three aspects of the ball," he said.

"UCF, it's not too far from home, it's the only Florida school I have an offer from and it's the only school I've visited. The whole university is a nice place that I could see myself."

At Arkansas, Floyd likes the relationship he's been building with Linebackers Coach Randy Shannon.

"Coach Shannon, he's from Miami, he's a Miami native, we have a good bond. He keeps in touch with me and he treats me like a son," Floyd said.

Floyd plans to take official visits to all three schools before making a decision. He'll be keeping an eye on a few things to help him make his choice.

"Probably playing time and education (are the biggest factors)," he said.

The Gulliver Prep standout hopes to make a decision sometime in early December. FOX sports NEXT will have the latest.
