Auburn, Ala., - It was a good night at the linebacker position for Auburn against Arkansas State. The Red Wolves boasted four different 100-yard rushers in a 62-11 victory over Arkansas Pine-Bluff in week one.
Facing Auburn in week two, the leading rusher was quarterback Adam Kennedy who was also a threat with his accurate arm completing 29-41 passes for 272 yards.
With Kennedy rarely missing a target and the receivers not making mistakes, Auburn's run defense had to stiffen up. The Red Wolves had just 31 yards on the ground by halftime and picked up most of theirs in the second half on scrambles by Kennedy.
The three finish with eight, five and six tackles, respectively.
With help from the front four, the Auburn defense held talented back David Oku to 48 yards on 16 carries and stuff several 3rd and short and 4th and short situations.
