CB Terry Godwin Profile
Last month, Callaway High School [Hogansville, Ga.] junior cornerback Terry Godwin made his first trip to Clemson.
"That was a great visit. The thing that stood out was the crowd, how the crowd was acting, and the student section," he said, during a recent interview with CUTigers.
Scout.com rates Godwin as a five-star prospect and ranks him as the No. 2 cornerback in the class of 2015. He was impressed with what he saw around the Clemson campus.
"The facilities were great. School-wise, they're all about business and education," Godwin said.
While on campus, he met with defensive backs coach Mike Reed.
"He was telling me what I wanted to hear," Godwin said. "He was telling me how, with his cornerbacks, he rotates them in and out. Whether you're a fifth-year senior or a true freshman, he lets you play.
"You're going to get some playing time, if you deserve it. If you work hard in practice, he's going to let you show it in the game."
In addition to Clemson, Godwin has taken visits to Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, UNC and South Carolina.
"I don't have a top five yet."
That list could be released in the not too distant future.
"I should be narrowing it down in probably a week or two," Godwin said.
A number of factors will be considered as he works toward that decision.
"Mainly the education and then the coaches, how the coaches interact with players," Godwin said.
