Dismukes named SEC O-Lineman of the Week

Auburn junior center Reese Dismukes was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

One of the leaders for an Auburn offense that leads the SEC in rushing yards this season on the way to a 10-1 start, junior center Reese Dismukes was named the league's offensive lineman of the week for his play in the Tigers' 43-38 win over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Grading out at 93 percent and increasing his team lead with seven knockdown blocks, Dismukes helped Auburn's offense rush for 323 yards and three touchdowns on the ground against a Georgia defense that entered the game allowing just 126 rushing yards per contest.

His play in the middle of the line this season has been one of the biggest reasons for Auburn's turnaround on that side of the ball as he's the unquestioned leader of the offensive line. Rushing for just 148.4 yards per game last season with 16 touchdowns on the ground, the Tigers are averaging 320.3 in 2013 and have 37 rushing touchdowns in 11 games.

Dismukes' honor was the ninth for the Tigers this season and seventh for the offense . Quarterback Nick Marshall has won SEC Offensive Player of the Week on two different occasions with running back Tre Mason adding the honor once.

Both quarterback Jeremy Johnson and defensive end Carl Lawson have been named the SEC Freshman of the Week with Johnson winning the award twice. On the defensive side of the ball Robenson Therezie was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the season and Chris Davis won SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the win over Tennessee.
