"I had a great time," Bessent said. "I didn't want to leave. The coaching staff, players, recruits, it was just a great time.
"It's like family with everybody," he added. "The players, the coaches, Tiger Hosts, it's just a great campus all around."
Getting to spend time with fellow defensive back commitments such as Stephen Roberts and Nick Ruffin as well as quarterback Sean White and others, Bessent says that the group has formed a strong bond already.
"I know a couple of them from the Under Armour All-American Game," he says. "They seem pretty cool. We all get along together. It was a great time. Me, Nick Ruffin and Stephen, I have been knowing those guys from playing in all-star games. It was cool."
Hosted on his visited by defensive back Brandon King and spending time with Cassanova McKinzy and several other players, Bessent notes he got a good feel for what to expect when he gets to Auburn in the future.
"They told me just to come in and be ready to work," Bessent says. "They said it won't be easy, but I can make it through it. They treated me like a brother the whole time I was there."
Like Roberts, Bessent was once an Alabama commitment that now is solidly with the Tigers. Now that he's taken his official visit to the Plains and doesn't plan on going anywhere else, the speedy defensive back said he's all Auburn.
"I love it there," Bessent says. "I'm not taking any more visits. I'm pretty solid on my commitment and that's it. At the time it was tough, but I'm happy now that I made the decision."
