Evans Cancels Return Trip to West Coast

An update is featured on five-star class of 2014 football prospect Rashaan Evans.

Auburn, Ala.--Rashaan Evans is still considering UCLA, but has cancelled a return trip to the Pac-12 program he was planning to make this week.

Alan Evans, father of the five-star recruit, said, "Rashaan decided not to take unofficial out there this weekend. He wants to take some days off from recruiting and try to clear his mind."

Evans took his third and final official visit to Auburn this past weekend and said he enjoyed that trip. The Auburn High School standout took an official visit to UCLA last fall and to Alabama earlier this month.

"He is still considering UCLA," Evans said. "We just felt we have seen about everything we needed to see out there. Rashaan decided to he wanted to stay and home and consider all of the things he has seen in the last year or so."

The prospect is expected to announce his decision at 10 a.m. CST at Auburn High School on Feb. 5th, which is national signing day.

Evans was a key player in his team reaching the Class 6A state championship game for the 2013 season. The Tigers fell to the Hoover Bucs in the title game played at Tuscaloosa.

Rashaan Evans helped his team win the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game played in Montgomery.

Evans was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game in December and in January was named the 6A Lineman of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

The 6-3, 220 Evans also played in the Under Armour All-American Game.
