Talented 2015 Lineman Talks Auburn

Class of 2015 standout George Brown Jr. from Winton Woods (Ohio) talks about the Auburn Tigers, his plans for another visit, recruiting and much more.

Cincinnati, Ohio--Already a three-star prospect on Scout.com for the 2015 recruiting class, big George Brown Jr. is a standout on both sides of the ball for Winton Woods High.

Familiar with Auburn after taking a trip down in July surrounding a family reunion, Brown had a chance to speak with Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimes and says he's excited about the interest from the Tigers early in the process.

"It was real good," the 6-6, 260 Brown tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "He told me that he wants me to come down again this weekend. I don't think I'll be able to make it though, but I know pretty soon I'm going to be back down again.

"When I first went down there it was a great visit," he notes. "I really liked all the coaches. I guess i just have to get down there and visit more. I just really like Auburn."

Planning to make another trip to the Plains in early March, Brown notes that he liked everything he heard from Gus Malzahn and the coaching staff when he met with them over the summer. Watching them win 12 games and come within seconds of winning the national championship, he says you can tell things are headed in the right direction.

"It really showed me that there is really something special at Auburn," Brown says. "They're going to continue to be good for the next few years."

Being recruited by some teams as an offensive tackle and others as a defensive lineman, Brown is athletic enough to average 15 points on his high school basketball team as a junior. Saying he's not sure which position he likes the best right now, he adds that Grimes and the success of this year's offensive line has him liking what he sees from the program.

"Greg Robinson is that guy right," he says. "It's good to know they have offensive linemen going out to the NFL. I think he's going to be pretty high in the first round, too."

With dozens of offers already and many more likely to come, Brown says that he's just taking things in stride at the moment, but plans to start narrowing things down in the near future. He adds that when he does the Auburn Tigers are going to be on his list and that's something he's sure of.

"I'm going to come out with a Top 15 pretty soon," Brown says. "Right now I believe I have 43 offers already. Sometimes it's crazy, but I just have to stay humble and keep working."
