Auburn Signee Profile: Racean "Roc" Thomas

The 2013 season's Mr. Football in the state of Alabama has signed his scholarship papers to play for the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn Signee: Racean Thomas is a senior at Oxford High School, who is better known by his nickname "Roc."

:Position/Scout Ranking: He is rated as a five star prospect and the No. 3 ranked running back in the nation for the 2014 signee class.

Auburn's Main Competition: He chose Auburn over Alabama and also looked at Florida and Florida State.

Why Auburn Signed Him: The top offensive prospect in the state, if not the overall best prospect, Thomas appears to be one of the most talented running backs to come out of Alabama in recent years. With Tre Mason moving on to the pros the Under Armour All-American should have a good chance to contribute early at Auburn.

Quoting Thomas "I have seen that they run pretty much the same offense we run at my high school so I think I will fit in great. I pretty much play the same role as Tre Mason did so I'll see how it works out for me."

Worth Noting: Thomas is the second consecutive Auburn signee to win the Alabama Sportswriters Association Mr. Football award. The previous winner was quarterback Jeremy Johnson. The last Auburn running back signee to win it was Carnell Williams in 2000.
