Position/Scout Ranking: He is rated five stars as the No. 2 middle linebacker prospect in the country.
Why Auburn Signed Him: The Tigers have a major need at linebacker for the 2014 signee class and he is one of the better prospects to come out of the state of Alabama in recent years so it was a big deal for Gus Malzahn and his staff when they picked up an early commitment from Williams long before the start of Auburn's 2013 turnaround season.
Quoting Williams: "I thought they (2013 Auburn team) would make a really big bowl game, but not the national championship game. Of course, I trusted Coach (Dameyune) Craig and Coach Malzahn and everything they said they were going to do. I put all my trust in them and they said they were going to do it, and they did it. That really tells me I made the right decision."
Worth Noting: The Under Armour All-American did a good job of helping the Tigers recruit other members of the signee class. With his combination of size, speed, athletic ability and desire to be successful, it won't be a surprise if Williams contributes early at Auburn.
